第5回山口大学国際同窓防災・環境オンラインセミナーが開催されました The 5th International Alumni Online Seminar on Disaster Prevention and Environment Held
2026年3月7日（土）、地域レジリエンス研究センター防災・減災グループ主催、山口大学工学部社会建設工学科共催の「第5回山口大学国際同窓防災・環境オンラインセミナー（The 5th International Alumni Online Seminar on Disaster Prevention and Environment）」が開催され、日本、インドネシア、東ティモール、フィリピン、ベトナム、マレーシア、ラオスの7か国から40名が参加しました。本セミナーは本学に留学・修了後、各国で活躍している卒業生と在学生の交流の場として開催されており、同時に、地方レベルの災害や環境の問題を共有し、解決のための国際的な研究協力関係を強化することを目的としています。
セミナーでは本学の在学生・卒業生による口頭発表セッションが行われました。前半のセッション（座長：工学部社会建設工学科 山本浩一教授）では、スリランカの首都コロンボにおける気候変動シナリオ下での洪水対策の経済効果、被災経験が学校での避難訓練に与える影響の各地での比較、衛星画像によるインドネシア・バリの長期間にわたる海岸線変化の解析、衛生によるインドネシア泥炭地の排水運河拡大の長期間モニタリングなど、多岐にわたるテーマについて4名が発表を行いました。後半のセッション（座長：東ティモール国立大学 ベンジャミン・マルティンス講師）では、2名が東ティモールの土砂崩れに関する発表を行いました。質疑応答の時間には、活発な議論と情報交換が行われました。

On Saturday, March 7, 2026, the 5th International Alumni Online Seminar on Disaster Prevention and Environment was held, organized by the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Group (DPMG) of the Research Center for Local Resilience and co-hosted by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Yamaguchi University. A total of 40 participants from seven countries – Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam – joined the seminar.
The seminar serves as a platform for interaction between current students and alumni who studied at Yamaguchi University and are now active in various countries, particularly in the field of disaster prevention and environmental protection. It also aims to promote the sharing of local-level issues related to disasters and the environment, and to strengthen international research collaboration toward their solutions.
The seminar featured oral presentation sessions by current students and alumni of the university. In the first session, chaired by Professor Koichi Yamamoto of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, four speakers presented on diverse topics, including:
- Economic effects of flood control measures in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, under climate change scenarios
- Comparative analysis of how disaster experience influences school evacuation drills in different regions
- Long-term shoreline change analysis in Bali, Indonesia using satellite imagery
- Long-term monitoring of drainage canal expansion in Indonesian peatlands using satellite-based observations
In the second session, chaired by Dr. Benjamim Hopffer Martins of the National University of Timor-Lorosa’e, two speakers presented their research related to landslides in Timor-Leste. Active discussions and information exchange took place during the Q&A session.
