Subhamoy Bhattacharya 教授による国際特別講義「Resilience of Offshore Wind Farms under Extreme Loads」を開催

2024年12月26日，サリー大学（イギリス）で地質力学講座を務めるSubhamoy Bhattacharya 教授による国際特別講義「Resilience of Offshore Wind Farms under Extreme Loads」が，山口大学で行われました。特別講義では，風車のグリーンエネルギー生産の過去・現在・未来の傾向について説明がありました。さらに，洋上風力タービンの設計における課題と，それらを克服するための地盤工学に関連する潜在的な解決策についても言及されました。世界の洋上風車研究のパイオニアの一人であるSubhamoy Bhattacharya 教授による研究は参加者の大きな関心を集め，ディスカッションの時間では参加者からの質問やコメントに対して丁寧に回答されました。 社会建設工学科のM. Azizul Moqsud 准教授が，この国際特別講義を企画し，座長を務めました。

International Special Lecture by Professor Subhamoy Bhattacharya

Professor Subhamoy Bhattacharya, Chair in Geomechanics, University of Surrey, UK delivered a special lecture at Yamaguchi University, Japan on the 26th of December 2024. The title of his lecture was Resilience of Offshore Wind Farms under Extreme Loads. In his lecture, he described windmills’ past, present, and future trends for green energy production. He also addressed the challenges of offshore wind turbine design and the potential solutions to overcome them regarding geotechnical engineering matters. Professor Bhattacharya who is one of the pioneers of offshore windmill research in the world answered the questions from the students and audiences after his interesting and insightful lecture. Dr. Azizul Moqsud, Associate Professor of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has organized and chaired the international special lecture.
