水谷司博士による特別講義「インフラモニタリングの最前線」を開催

2024年9月10日，東京大学の水谷司博士（東京大学生産技術研究所（IIS）准教授）による特別講義「インフラモニタリングの最前線」が山口大学で行われました。特別講義では，インフラモニタリングと土木工学モニタリングシステムの将来動向ついての洞察が提供され，社会建設工学科の教員や学生が参加しました。水谷博士のインフラの可視および不可視モニタリングに関する研究は参加者の大きな関心を集め，ディスカッションの時間には，参加者からの質問やコメントに対して水谷博士が丁寧に回答されました。さらに，特別講義の後には水谷博士が研究室を訪問し，学生たちの研究に対するアドバイスを行いました。この特別講義は，M.Azizul Moqsud准教授の企画によって実現しました。

A special lecture has been conducted by Dr. Tsukasa Mizutani of the University of Tokyo at Yamaguchi University on 10th September 2024. Dr. Mizutani is working as an Associate Professor at Institute of Industrial Science (IIS, University of Tokyo). The title of the lecture was “Frontiers in Infrastructure Monitoring”. It was a wonderful lecture full of insights into infrastructure monitoring and the future trend of Civil Engineering monitoring systems. His interesting research related to the visible and invisible monitoring of infrastructure has gained a lot of attention among the audiences. Students and faculty members of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering joined the lecture. There was a discussion time after the lecture in where Dr. Mizutani answered the questions and comments from the audience. After that lecture, Dr. Mizutani visited the laboratory and gave advice to the student’s research. The special lecture has been organized by Associate Professor Azizul Moqsud of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
